Cookie Policy
Version 1.0 · Last updated: 23 October 2026
Cookie details are based on a source-code review. Live-browser cookie attributes and deployment settings still require verification.
1. Introduction and Scope
This Cookie Policy explains how ECUGIE Technologies (ECUGIE, we, us) uses cookies and related browser-storage technologies on ecugie.com, including the public website, careers functionality and restricted internal staff areas. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
2. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a browser and sent to a website with relevant requests. Session cookies typically expire when the browser session ends; persistent cookies can remain until their expiry or deletion. Local storage and session storage are separate browser technologies and are not cookies.
3. Technologies Identified in the Current Application
A source-code review identified Better Auth for restricted staff sign-in, sessionStorage for careers submission feedback, and a localStorage-based theme preference component that is not currently mounted on the website. Searches did not identify a dedicated analytics or advertising tracker. These findings describe the reviewed application, not every possible future deployment configuration.
4. Essential Staff Authentication Cookies
The restricted staff area uses Better Auth for authentication and session management. The installed library defines session_token and may use session_data, account_data or dont_remember cookies depending on enabled authentication flows. Its default cookie prefix is better-auth, with naming potentially varying by secure deployment configuration. These cookies help maintain authenticated sessions and protect restricted features; they are not intended for advertising. The application configures sessions to expire after eight hours and refresh eligibility after one hour. Actual cookie lifetimes and attributes depend on the issued cookie and deployment settings.
5. Careers Application Session Storage
The careers application uses sessionStorage keys in the form ecugie:career-application:<jobSlug> to remember whether an application was submitted successfully or recognised as a duplicate. Stored values are success or duplicate. This helps the interface display appropriate status during the browser session. The form is designed to remain usable if browser storage is unavailable. This storage does not itself hold the submitted résumé or full application details.
6. Theme Preference Storage
The codebase contains an optional theme-preference component that can store a selected theme under the localStorage key ecugie-theme. The component was not found mounted in the reviewed website routes, so this storage is not described as an active public-facing feature. If enabled later, it may remember the selected appearance until the preference is changed or browser storage is cleared.
7. Analytics Technologies
The reviewed source-code searches did not identify Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity or similar dedicated analytics implementations. ECUGIE will update this policy before introducing material analytics technologies and will provide appropriate choices where legally required.
8. Advertising and Marketing Tracking
The reviewed source-code searches did not identify advertising pixels or behavioural advertising tags. ECUGIE does not describe such tracking as currently active. If marketing technologies are introduced, their purposes, providers and applicable consent choices will be disclosed.
9. Structured Data and External Content
The website generates JSON-LD structured data to describe its content to search engines. This markup does not itself set tracking cookies. External websites reached through links may use their own cookies and privacy practices. Third-party tools or hosting infrastructure may change at deployment; relevant changes should be assessed and disclosed.
10. Storage Duration
The staff authentication session is configured for eight hours, but the precise expiry of individual cookies must be checked in the deployed browser. Careers sessionStorage generally remains available within the browser tab session and may be cleared when that session ends, subject to browser behaviour. If theme localStorage is enabled, it may persist until changed or cleared. Other retention periods depend on the specific technology and configuration.
11. Your Browser Controls
You can inspect, block or delete cookies and browser storage through your browser settings and developer tools. Blocking essential authentication cookies may prevent staff sign-in or restricted features from working. Clearing careers session storage may remove the remembered submission status, but it does not withdraw or delete an application already received by ECUGIE.
12. Consent and Preferences
Essential technologies needed for secure authentication and requested functionality may operate without a separate optional-tracking preference, subject to applicable law. If ECUGIE introduces non-essential cookies or similar technologies requiring consent, appropriate notices and controls will be implemented before they are used. A cookie banner is not evidence of compliance by itself; the underlying technology must respect user choices.
13. Personal Data and Security
Some cookie or session identifiers may constitute personal data when linked to an identifiable person. ECUGIE handles related information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable law. Authentication cookies should be protected through appropriate technical settings and access controls; the effective settings must be verified in the deployment environment.
14. Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy to reflect changes in technologies, providers, legal requirements or website features. The revised version and its last-updated date will be published here. Material changes will be communicated where required by applicable law.
15. Contact
Questions about this policy may be submitted through the official ECUGIE contact page at /contact. Business location: Gurugram, Haryana, India. The exact registered legal entity name, registered-office address and designated contact details remain subject to business verification before public release.
